The Forgotten Kingdom
The Origin Story for the Human Kingdoms
Once upon a time, thousands of years ago...

-
All the kingdoms used to be one, but then the sons and daughters of the queen and king grew and set out into the world. They founded their own kingdoms each different and diverse, but the children would often come and feast together at their childhood home, the central kingdom. They would tell each other the progression of their kingdoms and that kingdoms recent accomplishments, faults, and struggles. They would learn from each other and share advancements. The unity of the royal family infused itself deep into the surroundings city until the central kingdom was a place of peace and blooming trade and culture.
-
The elves would come too, along with the forest folk (morphs weren’t around yet)
-
-
The blissful peace was finally broken by the sudden loss of the Queen, a nurturing beauty as fair within as she was without. It seemed the whole world mourned her loss. The king although heartbroken, loved her enough to carry on. He knew that she would want someone to carry on her kindness and be there for her children. He mourned and helped the kingdom mourn, then he helped everyone stand up, and keep moving. He helped everyone, could help everyone, everyone except his own children. They did not morn the simply, broke. They were devastated, splintered by pain and sorrow. There is only one place that much devastation and heartbreak can lead to, hate. They searched wildly for someone to blame.
-
Mother was killed by thieves on the way to visit the elves, a kind and friendly visit (close friends with elf queen)
-
Some of the siblings start to search for revenge
-
Find clues that lead to each other
-
Band of thrives was made of outlaws from every kingdom
-
-
they also blame the elves because their mother was going there
-
they don’t think they see any grief from the elves. When really the elves held a ceremony and had a week of grieving.
-
-
The siblings/kings and queens start arguing until they finally declare war on each other.
-
The forest folk are repeatedly ask to help one kingdom defeat or overthrow another, they refuse, and anger the kingdoms
-
The kingdoms latter start to encroach on the forest folk which speeds up their steady decline/extinction (forest folk are later so small that they are no longer able to hold onto their once large cities/kingdoms/land so they gather together to form what will become modern day Elora
-
-
The hate now is in full bloom
-
Father/king sees this happen between his children and try’s to bring them back together (invites them repeatedly to come and be together at the central kingdom but they can no longer come to the city because it reminds them too much of their mother and they want nothing to do with each other.
-
Father obviously stays out of the war but grows sad for his children and the state of the world
-
His kingdom is degrading, the economy plummeting due to the sudden lack of a trade market
-
He dies sad for his children, but excited to see his wife again.
-
His kingdom is left behind
-
The children fight over who it will belong to
-
The war epicenter moves right overtop of the central kingdom tearing it apart.
-
the kingdom, torn brick from brick, scarred and scavenged by war and blood was left to ruin
-
Once everyone realized the city and land were no longer a place to fight over (the sentimental value gone and the land darkened and unusable) the war came to a bumpy and uncomfortable end, feeling unfinished in every way but having no more funds and no more reason to fight the kingdoms returned to their tattered lands and continued to grow their cities, with hate in their hearts and war not far behind.
-
Last Keeper “There is hope however, because as the king was dying he called out to the great one and asked that he would look after his children and this land and one day deliver it once again to the land he once knew of peace, unity, and love. He also thanked to great one that he would soon be united with his wife, and prayed that his children would one day follow.”
